On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:
University Hospital – Marlena’s Office: Marlena gazes at a picture of John and flashes back to the night on the docks oh so long ago (This scene gets me every time). Marlena wonders where her beloved is and wonders what she will tell the children.
Brady arrives and asks Marlena what’s wrong. She says she has bad news and tells him John is missing. She tells him about her call with Shane where she learned John is incommunicado. Brady asks when he last checked in and how often. Marlena isn’t certain but knows John is trained to respond immediately when his handler gets in touch. Shane is working on finding John but doesn’t know much. Brady comes around the desk and embraces his stepmother.
Marlena says she will talk to Belle and Brady agrees to talk to Paul. Marlena is so happy they are together, and Brady says they should remain positive they are going to find John. With that, they say their I love yous and Brady exits to get Rachel (I love them together).
Brady Pub: Ava and Belle sit together. Belle wants to help her prepare her official statement, so EJ and Kristen don’t wiggle their way out. She plans to prosecute both of them, as well as Mama Blake, to the fullest extent of the law. Ava says she won’t be able to help her. Belle doesn’t understand and Ava says it’s because of Brady asked her not to testify. Belle is even more confused, and Ava explains how the case could trigger CPS to snatch little Rachel.
Belle understands but says she has a moral obligation to prosecute the case. She gets why CPS is a worry but maybe their intervention is warranted. She thinks if they had all the facts, they will see Rachel is better off with their father, but Ava isn’t so sure. Belle says Ava has to testify so she can prosecute three morally bankrupt criminals (Ava isn’t any angel). Ava swears, when she sees Kristen, she’s going to tear her apart. On cue, Kristen enters.
Kristen is glad Ava is going to keep her mouth shut to protect Rachel. Ava calls her a bitch. Kristen goes at Belle about working on her mother’s release as Ava isn’t willing to be a witness. Belle says she will have to wait until tomorrow as the courts are closed for the day. Belle gets a wee snarky and makes her exit. Kristen wonders if Ava has anything to say. Ava doesn’t but have words but does have an open-palm smack to deliver upside her head.
University Hospital – Lobby: A distracted Stephanie isn’t able concentrate on Kayla’s words. She asks what’s up and Stephanie tells her about Joy. She explains overhearing Sarah on the phone and Kayla has the nerve to make a comment about private patient information (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!). Stephanie goes on to says she assumes Alex would be the father of the baby. Kayla reminds her that they are getting ahead of themselves and should reserve worry until they have confirmation. Stephanie wonders what she’s going to tell Alex, but Kayla says she can’t say anything.
Stephanie doesn’t understand as she would be keeping a really big secret. Kayla says it’s not her secret to tell as she’s discussing Joy’s personal, medical information. Further, the hospital could be hit with a HIPPA violation at this already dicey time (Again, how is Kayla saying this mess with a straight face). Stephanie understands and says she will keep her mouth shut.
Horton Square: Philip can’t believe Joy wants to work for him. She explains she said her peace about Chloe and has moved on. Joy says she needs a job, which is the most important thing. Philip asks if she has experience and Joy said she did temp work in New York but is also a quick learner. She would also be more than willing to take anything. Philip says he will have to run it passed Xander. Joy hopes she can start ASAP as time is of the essence. Philip promises to chat with Xander that very day.
Philip asks why Joy’s life is a wreck and she explains about losing her job and the Johnny debacle. She really doesn’t want to have to explain everything to her mother. Philip relates as he has a similar relationship with Kate. He once again promises to run her working at Titan by Xander.
Kiriakis Mansion: Alex asks Xander if he can return to Titan. Xander says there is no bad blood and thinks Titan will benefit from his work. They shake on it and Alex hopes Philip is also on board. Xander says his relationship with Philip has gotten better and will run it by him later in the day.
Philip meets up with Xander who is cool with hiring Joy. Xander updates Philip on his chat with Alex. Philip is reluctant but Xander thinks they could use another Kiriakis on board when they wage war with DiMera Enterprises. Philip says he can put his own issues aside but wonders how Alex and Joy will be with working in such close proximity.
Horton Square: Joy gets a text from Philip confirming her job at Titan. Just then, she runs into Alex who thanks her for being cool when they saw each other earlier in the day. Joy says there’s something he should know. She’s going to stay in Salem and then she avoids the pregnancy topic and says she just got a job at Titan.

Xander convinces Philip hiring Alex is a good idea. With that, Xander sends him a text.
Alex gets Philip’s text and tells Joy they will both be working at Titan. Just then, Stephanie arrives, and she learns how both Alex and Joy will be working at Titan.
Belle arrives to see Marlena who wants to tell her about John.
Brady is at the DiMera Mansion updating Paul on John’s MIA status. Kristen arrives with ice on her cheek. She thanks him for convincing Ava to not move forward with the kidnapping case. He asks about her face and Kristen says Ava assaulted her.
Ava receives a call from Brady and says he just spoke to Kristen. She’s still not thrilled with dropping the charges. Ava says she can thank him by driving Kristen to a remote location, tying her to a chair and leaving her for dead. Brady apologizes for putting her in that position. Ava says she’s sorry as well and hangs up.
