Zavragin, 19, started two games this week, winning both en route to a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 GAA, and a .975 save percentage.

The standout Flyers goalie prospect stood on his head in his recent KHL action. On Sunday, Zavragin made a whopping 41 saves on 43 shots, backstopping Sochi to a thrilling 3-2 win over Dinamo Minsk, the former club of fellow Flyers goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov.

Five days prior, on Oct. 1, Zavragin started against Severstal Cherepovets, building a brick wall around his crease and stopping all 36 shots he faced to earn his first career KHL shutout.

Making Zavragin’s efforts more impressive is the fact that Sochi, the team for which Matvei Michkov played for the last two seasons, is generally considered to be one of the worst teams in the KHL.

In this instance, Sochi was used by SKA as a team for younger players, like Zavragin, to develop on, but the 19-year-old has proven level to the task early on in his career.

Through his first six career KHL games, Zavragin has posted a 3-3-0 record, a 2.21 GAA, a .941 save percentage, and one shutout.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound goalie has three years remaining on his contract with SKA and is quickly turning into one of the world’s best prospects at his position.

Zavragin was drafted by the Flyers 87th overall in the third round of the 2023 NHL Draft, one round after the selection of fellow Flyers goalie prospect Carson Bjarnason.
