The Vegas Golden Knights announced Tuesday that the club has signed right winger Tuomas Uronen to a three-year, entry-level contract set to begin in 2025-26.
Uronen was originally chosen by the Golden Knights in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Through 63 games this season with the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs, Uronen finished tied for top spot in team scoring with 90 points counting 38 goals and 52 assists through 63 appearances. In all, Uronen’s 90 points ranked 12th in the OHL scoring race.
Originally chosen 57th overall by the Ottawa 67’s in the 2023 CHL Import Draft, Uronen saw 11 showings with the 67’s during the 2023-24 campaign in which he registered two goals and four assists for six points. In all, through 74 OHL career games, Uronen has registered 40 goals and 56 assists for 96 points. This spring, he also added 13 points counting five goals and eight assists through 11 postseason appearances.
This season, the 20-year-old forward also joined his native Finland at the 2025 World Junior Championship where through seven outings he recorded two goals and one assist for three points en route to a silver-medal victory. Uronen’s international experience also includes the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he put up four points in as many games to help the Finns to a bronze medal. Uronen also took home bronze at the 2022 IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship after notching one goal and one assist for two points in five contests.
In all, Uronen becomes the seventh player to ink an entry-level contract with the Golden Knights in recent weeks, joining Kitchener Rangers forward Trent Swick, Guelph Storm forward Braeden Bowman, Red Deer Rebels graduate Kai Uchacz, Northeastern Huskies goaltender Cameron Whitehead, Providence Friars forward Trevor Connelly, as well as Michigan Wolverines forward Jackson Hallum.
