Two Atlаntа Fаlconѕ legendѕ һonored wіtһ College Footbаll Hаll of Fаme іnductіon

Before those fortunate enough to play in the NFL make their way to the league, many establish themselves as legends at the collegiate level. For two former Atlanta Falcons stars, their impact on college football has earned them a place in the prestigious College Football Hall of Fame.

On Wednesday, the Hall of Fame announced its 2025 class, which includes quarterback Michael Vick and center Alex Mack among the 18 players and four coaches selected for induction.

Michael Vick’s two-year tenure at Virginia Tech from 1999-2000 remains one of the most iconic in college football history. As a redshirt freshman, he led the Hokies to an 11-0 regular season and a national championship game appearance.

Vick redefined the quarterback position with his dual-threat ability. He still holds several Virginia Tech records, including single-season passing efficiency (180.4 in 1999) and single-season yards per completion (20.4 in 1999).

"Michael revolutionized the quarterback position with his combination of speed, accuracy, and a big, strong arm," said former Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, via Virginia Tech’s website.

After being selected first overall in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Falcons, Vick’s dynamic style translated to the professional level, where he became the first quarterback in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season.

As a four-year starter at Cal, Alex Mack helped lead the Golden Bears to a 34-17 record, earning the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy in 2008 for his academic, athletic, and leadership excellence.

"Alex Mack is what an elite student-athlete and tremendous person should be all about," said former Cal coach Jeff Tedford, via Cal’s website.

In the NFL, Mack became one of the league’s premier centers, earning seven Pro Bowl nods over his career. His time with the Falcons from 2016-2020 included a pivotal role in Atlanta’s run to Super Bowl LI.

Vick and Mack's collegiate and professional contributions solidify their places as two of football’s all-time greats. They will officially be inducted during the NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 9, with their achievements showcased at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
