After all the chatter and criticism Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been a part of, it's nice to see him go out there and sling the ball with ease.
The Eagles are now two days into their training camp and from all reports, Hurts looks as good as he has ever looked. Day two seemed to be a massive success for the former Super Bowl MVP with some stellar throws made.
It was all the same reporting during offseason workouts as Hurts was completing nearly all of his passes in those practices. Nothing has changed in training camp with another display of greatness from him.
Full report of how Hurts has been performing after two days of training camp
NBC Sports Philadelphia Eagles reporter Dave Zangaro provided fans with an inside look at Hurts' performance in training camp, offering his observations. Zangaro shared Hurts' overall performance and how well he has been doing in practice this year and in the past, which isn't discussed as much as it should be.
"Through two practices, Jalen Hurts has looked very sharp. Over the past couple of seasons, Hurts has turned into a really good practice player and it’s rare these days to see a ball hit the ground — so much so that I normally race to scribble it down in my notebook when it does."
"We probably don’t spend enough time talking about Hurts in practice because; for the past two years, he’s been really sharp. It has been noticeable already two days into this camp and it seems like the offense hasn’t lost a step with a new coordinator."
Zangaro added to his report with discussing the throws Hurts made on day two. There were some incredible throws made by Hurts that had everyone on the practice field talking within the media.
"Hurts has a few particularly strong throws on Thursday. One came in 7-on-7s, when he threw an absolutely perfect ball over the outstretched arms of Trotter into the hands of Dallas Goedert down the field. Just perfect placement despite Trotter being in good position.
Another great throw came on a pass to DeVonta Smith in team drills on a play where Hurts rolled to his left and delivered a bullet to No. 6 about 25 yards down the field. It’s a throw that Hurts probably isn’t able to make earlier in his career."
It appears to be business as usual for Hurts, who is coming off a 32-touchdown season in the air and on the ground. He has faced criticism this offseason for not doing enough within the offense, with his running back, Saquon Barkley, receiving most of the credit, despite the team's success.
This is why it is important to report what Hurts is doing during training camp to remind the rest of the NFL that he is still firing on all cylinders. While it may not be the real thing like in a game, he can make all the throws an elite quarterback can because, well, he is elite himself.
