What’s Claire really worth?
On the June 3 episode of The Young and the Restless, Kyle offered to pay Victor five million dollars if Kyle ends up breaking Claire’s heart. (Note that he offered the money to Victor, not Claire, proving who the most important person in this pretty sick and twisted love triangle really is.) Since money means nothing to either Kyle or Victor, it was a pretty empty gesture on both sides. But what if Victor has a counteroffer for Jack’s son?
Dirty Sexy Money
There is not a penny to Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) name that he earned for himself. It all comes from John Abbott (Jerry Douglas). So, of course, Kyle is free to offer it to Victor (Eric Braeden). Victor did earn his own money. But the five million dollars would not be for something Victor did, but for something Kyle did to Claire (Hayley Erin).
Still, he should pay Victor. It’s his pain and suffering at watching his granddaughter’s pain and suffering that Kyle needs to feel sorry for.
Waste Not, Want Not
Victor doesn’t need another five million dollars. What he needs is to win, to be right, to get the chance to say I Told You So, and for both Kyle and Jack (Peter Bergman) to be humbled. So how about this for a counter-offer, Kylie-Boy (it doesn’t roll nearly as trippingly off the tongue as Billy Boy (Jason Thompson), does it?)? Maybe he can call him Vile Kyle? Smily Kylie (a play of his dad’s old nickname, Smiling Jack?)? Dial-A-Kyle? Hale Kyle? (No, that would mean finally admitting that Victor, who allegedly grew up in America, has a German accent? And why would that be?)
Anyway, here is the counter-offer: Victor doesn’t want your five million dollars, child. Victor wants your shares in Jabot. Still believe your love for Claire is worth it?
