Out of all the possible scenarios, the Rangers are most likely to keep Jacob Trouba on the roster.

On Saturday, The Maven listed the "Five Most Pressing Rangers Questions" and promised answers one by one.

The first is "What will Blueshirts manager Chris Drury do about Jacob Trouba? (My answer follows:)

Trouba once was a worthwhile addition to the team but NOT for the crazy dough he's getting.

He's sometimes tough and occasionally nails an opponent with the thudding check that stimulates the Garden crowd to a frenzy.

As a captain, he does not come off as a Mark Messier type although he – very questionably – won the Messier Award.

Nor does he make his defensemates – K'Andre Miller – any better.

That leaves Drury in a bind since Trouba value has deteriorated and his paycheck is giving The Garden safe a headache.

My prediction is that Drury will grin and bear it. He’ll designate Trouba a sixth defense slot and hope for the best.

If Chris gets it, he'll give it his best and – you never know – he just might have a superior year to spite his critics.

But don't bet on it. Wager that he'll be an ex-Ranger by April.
