The Pittsburgh Penguins have added yet another forward prospect to their system.
On Friday, the WBS Penguins announced that they signed four-year junior forward Brayden Edwards to a two-year AHL contract. The contract begins in 2025-26 and will run through the end of the 2026-27 season.
Edwards, 20, played in four seasons with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. In those four seasons, he registered 82 goals and 199 points in 236 total games, and he really picked things up in his final two seasons, potting 31 goals in each of them.
The 6-foot-1, 188-pound center led the Hurricanes in goals and points (77) in 2024-25, and he put up six goals and 17 points in 16 games during their playoff run. Edwards is primarily known for his defensive work, but the uptick in his offensive game over the last two seasons have made him more of a two-way threat.
The Penguins could use all the center depth they can get in the organization, and Edwards figures to be a solid part of WBS's plans next season.
