The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Monday, July 21 saw tears of sorrow, tears of joy, and Grace having to answer some very tough questions.
Everyone celebrated Liam’s (Scott Clifton) second chance at life. He survived the gunshot, the tumor is gone, and his prognosis was fantastic. There were tears all around, including Liam’s. First and foremost, he wanted to see his girls. Now that he was going to live, he had no issue with his daughters knowing he was sick or knowing that he’s recovering.
Finn (Tanner Novlan) couldn’t shake that this just didn’t seem right. There was something off about the tumor being removed so cleanly. He pulled Bill aside to share his concerns but Dollar Bill wasn’t having it. He was overjoyed that Grace saved Liam and wasn’t about to let Finn’s suspicions ruin this moment. Bill took to his son’s bedside and promised Liam he would cherish him from now on.
Later, Finn brought in the girls to see their dad. Steffy and Hope promised Kelly and Beth that Liam may look scary right now but all was going to be okay. When they took Bill’s place at Liam’s beside, he showed them all his “cool” medical equipment and tubes and assured them he’d recovery and be back to his old self in no time
Good Doc, Bad Doc?
Back at the hospital, Grace (Cassandra Creech) got a text from Dollar Bill thanking her for saving his son moments before Bridget (Ashley Jones) barged in demanding to talk about Liam. She questioned her about Liam’s discharge and wanted to know what was really going on. Much to Bridget’s dismay, Grace refused to explain herself. And, when things started to get heated, a call interrupted their chat and Grace promptly dismissed her. She took the hasty call and afterward felt a flood of relief when she got the notification that the transfer from Bill is cleared.
In the hallway, Bridget replayed everything in her head and started to suspect something else was up. As for Grace, she replayed everything that went down too as she stared down at her million-dollar windfall and started to panic about what was to come next for her.
Spreading Joy
Over at Forrester, Taylor (Rebecca Budig), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) worried for Liam’s future believing he had mere weeks left. Those frowns were quickly turned upside down by Katie (Heather Tom) and Will (Crew Morrow) who happily told them the great news. Grace and her colleague have saved Liam!
While everyone whooped it up, Taylor called the hospital to try to get more information. Unfortunately, all she found out was what they already knew. Grace signed Liam out and he’s now under Bill’s care. While that seemed a bit strange, they were all just grateful Liam would be around for years and years to come
Across the hall, Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) was unaware of the newest Liam news as she cried to Electra (Laneya Grace) about Liam. She simply couldn’t believe the cruelty of the universe. How does a great man like Liam go from living through an attack to having to fight terminal brain cancer. It wasn’t fair. None of it was fair. And, it made her miss him all that much more. She told Electra all about her much-too-short romance with him. Liam was the best boyfriend she ever had.
Ivy then explained that Liam was the biggest reason she came back to Los Angeles. She was hoping for a true shot at a second chance. She never thought she’d have to say goodbye to him. Especially not like this.
