After a week’s delay, we’re back in the swing of things. The binge-worthy TV show has just followed the team finding an abandoned warehouse used as a hub for underage sex trafficking, with Adam and Burgess going in to try and find those being held inside.
Cook and Torres’ relationship is as up in the air as ever, with Ruzek and Burgess’ wedding at risk of being canceled. But most importantly, Voight is inching ever closer to nailing Reid once and for all.
The showdown is set to heat up in Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 21, but when can you watch the new episode?
When is the new episode of Chicago PD?
Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 21, titled ‘Open Casket,’ will air on May 14, 2025, on NBC at 10pm ET.

An official runtime hasn’t been revealed yet, but we can expect Season 12 Episode 21 to clock in at around 45 minutes.

If any episode of Chicago PD Season 12 is going to be significantly longer, it will be the season finale – which is Episode 22, for those not keeping up.
What will happen in Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 21?
As you can see in the trailer below, the hunt is on to take Reid down. The team race to try and catch him, putting themselves in danger along the way.
“If we catch him, it’s game over,” Voight is seen telling the team, adding, “This is what we’ve been waiting for.”
The trailer ends with Voight alone in a dark room, telling another man that he “wants” Reid. As we can already tell from the Episode 22 synopsis, this plot likely won’t be resolved until the season finale.
Elsewhere, tension is building before Ruzek and Burgess’ wedding, which is likely to have a few problems as the Reid showdown intensifies.
