Where Is Britain’s Got Talent This Weekend? Fans React to Unexpected Break!

Britain's Got Talent has been causing a stir since it returned to our screens but it has been removed from the TV schedule this weekend.

The ITV programme — with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and YouTuber KSI on the judging panel — has been the talking point of Saturday nights, in part thanks to its controversies.

OfCom received 771 complaints over the first episode, relating to two acts: Auzzy Blood who pulled himself to the top of the stage using a meat hook through his nose and Akira Ohashi who performed naked covering his privates with various objects.

On the Saturday just gone, some of Britain's Got Talent fans complained the Golden Buzzer act Olly Pearson, 11, was "ruined" for them because they said they couldn't hear his guitar solo over the music that had been edited over the top.

here will be many families who do tune into the show disappointed to find out its not going to be airing on Saturday 15 March.

Britain's Got Talent has been pulled from the schedule while ITV has live coverage of the rugby Six Nations. Coverage for the France v Scotland's game starts at 7pm on Saturday, with kick off at 8pm.

Mark Pougatch is at the helm presenting the sports coverage for the final match of this year's championship which is being hosted at Stade de France. The rugby coverage will end on ITV1 at 10.35pm.

It is unusual for Britain's Got Talent to be on as early in the year and on at the earlier time of 7pm.

Lily Wilson, the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV, explained the reason behind putting Britain's Got Talent into the TV schedules as early as February and March. She previously said: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event."

While Britain's Got Talent isn't on this weekend, it won't be off our screens for long. BGT will return to ITV1 on the following Saturday on 22 March; it also marks a month since the show returned to our screens on 22 February in 2025.

The official X account said: "We'll be taking a short break next week, but we have even more comin' your way when #BGT continues SATURDAY 22nd MARCH (that's the week after next!) at 7pm on @ITV1, @ITVX and @WeAreSTV."

The next episode promised to be exciting with a group of dancing Minions, Ant and Dec being involved in an act, KSI being tickled while blindfolded on stage, Cowell wearing a fake pinocchio nose and more drama set to air in BGT.

The ITV reality show is still in the early stages with the pre-recorded auditions playing out on our screens.

Additionally, Britain's Got Talent will run across four months this year as the live semi-finals will air on Saturday prime time TV. Last year, the show ran its live semi-final over the course of a week.

Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday 22 March on ITV1 at 7pm.
