Kandi Burruss, star of Real Housewives of Atlanta, announced her departure after appearing from season 2 to 15. Bravo confirmed season 16 in February 2024, but Kandi won't be returning. The show, which began in October 2008, follows the lives and dramas of Atlanta's housewives.

Kandi Burruss, who was famously known for her time on Real Housewives of Atlanta is a multifaceted personality. After the reality TV star announced that she would not be coming for season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, she also opened up about her other pursuits and interests that she wanted to work on. Kandi Burruss announced her departure during the 2024 Grammys.

On February 4, 2024, she shared in an interview with Variety's editor Marc Malkin that:

"I’m not really keeping up right now. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things."

Before joining Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss made a name for herself in the music industry. She won a Grammy in 2000 for No Scrubs and was also nominated for Bills, Bills, Bills. In the summer of 2024, Kandi toured with her Xscape bandmates, visiting 30 U.S. cities to celebrate R&B with their Queens of R&B tour.

Kandi Burruss is a producer as well, and when she has her schedule all by herself she is getting more active in producing Broadway shows along with her husband Todd. Her first work as a Broadway producer was Thoughts of a Colored Man, written by Keenan Scott II. She runs a hotel business in Atlanta and has two hotels The Old Lady Gang, and Blaze Steak and Seafood. She also runs a cosmetic brand named, Kandi Koated Cosmetics, and a lifestyle brand known as Bedroom Kandi.

After leaving the show Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi expressed that she shared a good relationship with Andy Cohen, the host of the show, and also stated in an interview with Reality Tea on April 23, 2024, that:

"It made me feel, like, ‘Wow.’ I’m glad we have this relationship, and I didn’t leave on a bad note. We still have that relationship. She said they still support each other, and she feels they have a friendship. I’m glad it’s that way.”
