Britain's Got Talent officially got underway earlier this year in its longest series to date - and the search for the country's next best thing continues.

The show began airing in February, making it the longest-running series in its history, and for the past few weeks, the live semi-finals have also aired weekly on a Saturday night, rather than being condensed into one week at the end of May as in previous years

In another change, all the auditions were held in Blackpool at the famous Winter Gardens, with Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli back on the judging panel.

They were also joined by special guest, British YouTuber, rapper, and professional boxer, KSI who was able to fill in for both Bruno and Simon during filming absences.

But the hunt for the 2025 series winner is still ongoing, with the hopefuls looking to get their hands on the £250,000 prize money, as well as a chance to perform by royal appointment at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

However, viewers who were looking forward to tuning in for the next instalment of the ITV talent show on Saturday night (May 17) will be left disappointed as the next episode has been 'pulled' from the schedule—just for tonight.

It was previously confirmed that there would change to its weekend programming, with Britain’s Got Talent moving from its usual Saturday night slot to Sunday instead.

The next live semi-final will now air on Sunday (May 19), from 7pm to 9pm, to make way for ITV’s coverage of the FA Cup Final. The match between Manchester City and Crystal Palace will take place on Saturday afternoon, followed by a run of ITV's other primetime entertainment shows.

The football fixture will kick off at 3pm and is expected to finish by 7.15pm. It will then be followed by Deal or No Deal: Celebrity Special, Beat the Chasers, and The 1% Club.

The change also comes as the Eurovision Song Contest grand final airs on Saturday on BBC One live from Switzerland from 8 pm. Twenty-six acts will take to the stage in Basel, hoping to be crowned the 69th winner of the gigantic European music competition.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed one of BGT's semi-finalists has quit following confusion over their appearance on the show at the end of last month.

Teddy Magic was due to perform during the first live semi-final at the end of last month. But after his introduction, host Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed that the eight-year-old magician 'wasn't ready' to come on stage.

Instead, they improvised and spoke to the judges about the previous act to kill time, but even Simon Cowell was confused. They then moved on to the other acts before it was later confirmed the young magician would perform at a later date.

But it was confirmed this week that Teddy has in fact quit Britain's Got Talent. In a statement to The Sun, a BGT Spokesperson said: “After discussions with Teddy’s parents and the production team, it has been jointly agreed that Teddy won’t perform in this year’s semi-finals, but BGT hopes to see Teddy again in a future series.”Teddy’s family also said: "We want to thank everyone who has supported Teddy and cheered him on – he continues to fill our world with magic."
