Wild's Salary Cap Outlook Following Chisholm Signing

It is still a long ways away from the start of the season but the Wild do start development camp on Tuesday so it got us thinking how the Wild will lineup next season in terms of salary after their recent signing.

Declan Chisholm May Have Found A Future In Minnesota - Minnesota Wild - Hockey Wilderness

The Wild signed defenseman Declan Chisholm to a one-year contract worth $1 million. The team is expected to announce it soon.

After the signing, PuckPedia has the Wild at $1,531,410 in terms of cap space available. It is likely the Wild won't do much the rest of this offseason in terms of signings or bringing anyone else in.

It is expected they enter the 2024-25 season with roughly $1.5 million in available cap space.

Above is what some line combinations could look like. With Jakub Lauko and Jon Merrill as healthy scratches the Wild would have 22 of the 23 max players on the roster. This would give them exactly $1,531,410 in cap space.

They could have more cap space if either Liam Ohgren or Marat Khusnutdinov start the season in the AHL but that doesn't seem likely considering the Wild go on the road for three weeks after their first two games of the year.

Nonetheless, this looks to be how the Wild are set to start the 2024-25 season baring any changes.

This is the team that JFresh Hockey projects to have over 100 points and finish second in the Central Division.
