She says she can’t if the doctor won’t sign off on it, but Kai claims he’s been working really hard. She asks why he wants out so badly. He explains he wants to be there to support Trina when she performs at the Nurses Ball
Stella returns later with bad news. Kai’s doctor won’t release him, given the type of surgery he had. He asks if not today, is there still time to be discharged before the Nurses Ball? She tells him anything is possible.
At the Nurses Ball rehearsal space, Trina asks Joss where she’s been and why she’s been so busy. Joss tells her that she got a job as Dalton’s assistant. Trina is thrilled but soon realizes that’s the job Emma wanted. Joss says she applied on a whim and just thought Emma was a shoo-in. Joss notes Emma isn’t happy with her. Trina is happy for her and says Emma will come around, and it’s not like she stole the job.
