WWHL: Brittany Cartwright Reveals Surprising Financial Update With Jax Taylor - minhnhi

Marital problems and money problems go hand in hand. So, when Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright suddenly announced their separation, we immediately started wondering what was going on in the financial department. The fact their breakup coincided with the premiere of The Valley seemed even more questionable.

Of course, the separation started to make more sense after watching Season 1 of The Valley. Throughout Season 1, they haven’t shied away from talking about their intimacy troubles. But what’s going on with the money? According to Brittany, they have that part mostly under control.

Separate lives and separate bank accounts

Throughout the separation. Brittany has remained transparent about her finances. In addition to her reality TV job, she also has a partnership with Jenny Craig and her podcast with Jax. She doesn’t depend on her ex for money, and during a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, she told Andy Cohen that they already have separate bank accounts. Their paychecks aren’t commingling.

“We have separate accounts,” Brittany confirmed on WWHL.

Brittany explained that keeping their bank accounts separate has always been the case. That’s a smart move — especially since Brittany has admitted that she could never fully move past Jax’s past infidelity. Would you want that man to have access to all of your money?

Bills, bills, bills

Although Jax and Brittany have separate bank accounts, they’re still working together to keep all of their bills in order. Brittany recently sat down on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast and explained how they’ve divvied everything up. Surprisingly. they seem pretty organized with how they split their expenses.

“Jax pays the mortgage. I pay all the bills,” she said. “We have everything split up.”

It’s hard to imagine paying bills for a house that you’re not currently living in, but that’s the messy part about a separation. Brittany has one foot in her Airbnb and the other in her marital home with Jax. Ultimately, it seems like they’re taking things one day at a time while trying to do what’s best for little Cruz.

The Valley airs new episodes on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
