The New York Yankees will continue their three-game series with the San Francisco Giants on Saturday at Oracle Park. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Yankees-Giants prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.
The Yankees entered the weekend with a 39-19 record, which was good for first place in the American League East. Substantially, they are also the best team in the AL.
The Giants came into the weekend with a 29-28 record, which was good for a tie for second place in the National League West. Now, San Francisco hopes to put things together and rise in the NL West.
The Yankees are 12-6 against the Giants. Furthermore, they went 2-1 against the Giants last season at Yankees Stadium. New York also swept San Francisco at Oracle Park in 2019.
Clarke Schmidt starts for the Yankees. He is 5-3 with a 2.52 ERA. Recently, he went five innings while allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out six and walking three in a hard-luck loss to the San Diego Padres. Schmidt has not had a quality start in two consecutive games. Likewise, this will be his first time facing the Giants.
Logan Webb starts for the Giants. He is 4-4 with a 2.74 ERA. Somehow, he went seven innings in his last start while allowing one run, none earned, on three hits while striking out eight in a n0-decision in his last outing. It was his fourth straight quality start, but he is somehow 1-1 in those games. Sadly, there has been a major lack of run support. Webb has one start against the Yankees in his career, allowing four earned runs on four hits while striking out 12 over six innings.

Why The Yankees Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Yankees continue to batter the baseball. Amazingly, they are fourth in batting average, sixth in runs, and third in slugging percentage. New York is also the best in baseball in on-base percentage and home runs. N0w, the Yanks look to continue to pound the baseball.
Anthony Volpe is an excellent leadoff hitter and continues to set the tone for the Yanks. Now, he faces Webb for the first time. Juan Soto came into the weekend with a .312 batting average, 15 home runs, 49 RBIs, and 41 runs. Ultimately, the former Padre has done well against the Giants, batting .267 with 40 hits, 12 home runs, 21 RBIs, and 32 runs over 43 games in his career against the Giants.
Aaron Judge has clobbered the baseball and came into the weekend with a batting average of .273 with 18 home runs, 41 RBIs, and 38 runs. Amazingly, he destroyed the Giants last season, hitting .462 (6 for 13) with two home runs, four RBIs, and three runs over three games. Giancarlo Stanton still has some power, as he is batting .225 with 13 home runs, 29 RBIs, and 23 runs. Now, he hopes to continue his success against the Giants, a team he is hitting .317 with 59 hits, 19 home runs, 39 RBIs, and 33 runs over 49 games against.
The Yankees are the best in baseball at pitching. Remarkably, they are first in team ERA. New York also has a great bullpen. So far, they are second in the majors in bullpen ERA.
The Yankees will cover the spread if they can batter the baseball. Then, they need a good outing from Schmidt.
Why The Giants Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Giants have had improved hitting this season. So far, they are 10th in batting average and on-base percentage. San Francisco also ranks 13th in runs, 21st in home runs, and 17th in slugging percentage. Thus, they hope their best players can help them get things going.
Lamonte Wade Jr. has been out the last few games with an injury. Thus, it means others have to step up. Wilmer Flores came into the weekend struggling, batting just .219 with one home run, 14 RBIs, and 12 runs. Sadly, it just has not been a good season for him and he needs to find a way to do more.
Matt Chapman has some experience against the Yankees. Regrettably, it has not been good, as he is batting .189 with 39 hits, seven home runs, 20 RBIs, and 26 runs over 55 games. Jorge Soler would like to do more. Yet, he is hitting .167 with 12 hits, two home runs, five RBIs, and six runs over 21 games.
The Giants have struggled to pitch. Unfortunately, they are just 26th in team ERA. Their bullpen has also struggled. Sadly, they are just 22nd in bullpen ERA.
The Giants will cover the spread if their offense can find a way to make life difficult for Schmidt. Then, they need another good outing from Webb.
Final Yankees-Giants Prediction & Pick
The Yankees are the best team in baseball. However, the Giants have done well recently. San Francisco is 7-5 against the spread over their last 12 home games. Also, the Giants have their best pitcher on the mound. While the bullpen is not nearly as good, they will do just enough to keep the game close. San Francisco covers the spread at home and makes the Yankees earn every single run in this game.
Final Yankees-Giants Prediction & Pick: San Francisco Giants +1.5 (-184)
