Young & Restless Brings In the Big Guns to Blow Up the Party of the Year

Young & Restless is about to go wild and crazy. Jai Rodriguez has been cast as elite party planner Pietro — yes, just the one name, thanks — Us Weekly reports.

The blowout that the newcomer is tasked with orchestrating is the biggest of the big: a bash to celebrate the birthday of the soap’s reigning matriarch, Nikki Newman. Rodriguez’s first of several episodes will air on Wednesday, May 28.

If the actor’s name and/or face seem familiar, it’s with exceedingly good reason. He was an OG cast member on Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. His specialty? Social interaction. Sounds about right for a party planner, eh?

In addition to his stint in reality TV, Rodriguez has guest-starred on everything from Grey’s Anatomy to The Rookie and was a heaven-sent Angel in Broadway’s Rent.

Our question to you is: Who do you think has to, has to, has to turn up on Nikki’s big night? Her long-MIA sister Casey? Son Dylan, who’s been in Witness Protection (and may need to be recast with, say, Austin Peck, since Steve Burton is back on General Hospital)?
