BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell in tears in 'struggling' update

Dianne Buswell admitted she has been "struggling." The Australian dancer is currently on tour alongside fellow Strictly professional Vito Coppola. Their show, titled 'Red Hot and Ready' kicked off last week and lasts until July 26.

Dianne triumphed on Strictly Come Dancing when she was partnered with Scouse comedian Chris McCausland. Chris became the first ever blind contestant to lift the glitterball trophy and the nation fell in love with the pairing.

They have since gone on to launch their own podcast together called 'Winning Isn't Everything'. In a recent episode, Chris asked his dancing partner how she is doing while on the road with Vito.

Dianne admitted: "I've been struggling, I've had a struggle struggle week." She explained she has been feeling unwell: "I did have a moment, I've cried and everything."

She reflected on the times she made Chris push through during the training sessions when he wasn't feeling well. She said: "I had a moment where I thought 'I feel really bad when I used to be so mean to Chris about being sick'."

Chris joked about all of the times he cried in rehearsals that wasn't for for "joyous, emotional reasons", but because he felt unwell. Dianne was quick to defend herself as she claimed women are more "emotional" because of their hormones. Chris argued back: "Men have got hormones too."

Chris was due to embark on his 'Yonks' comedy tour around the UK last year, but instead he decided to reschedule the dates so he could take part in Strictly.

Despite only expecting to last a few weeks, Chris made it to the very end. He was the first winner who was unable to take part in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour due to scheduling conflicts. Having already rescheduled his UK tour dates once, the Scouse comedian felt he couldn't cancel on his fans again.

The nation fell in love with Chris during the entirety of his Strictly journey, however there was one standalone moment that fans will remember forever.

Chris and Dianne recently took home the BAFTA TV award for the most Memorable Moment of the year. Their emotional performance of a waltz to 'You'll Never Walk Alone' had fans in tears during the 2024 series.

Following the routine, Chris and Dianne received a standing ovation from the studio audience. Head judge Shirley Ballas, who hails from Wallasey, said: "I found that extremely emotional."

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman backstage, he said: "It's a Liverpool song. I'm wearing some red today, [Dianne] is wearing some blue today, and I hope we represent the city. It's a song about togetherness and hope."
