The opera singer and BBC radio host was dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour after making an 'inappropriate' comment
A source has claimed a video of the 'inappropriate' comment that got Wynne Evans sacked from the Strictly Come Dancing tour will 'vindicate' the star.
The Welsh opera singer was dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing tour back in January and stepped back from his BBC radio show after a video surfaced of him allegedly making an inappropriate comment towards Strictly tour host Janette Manrara.
Now sources suggest that a full-length version of the video has emerged which could vindicate Wynne.
The video is reported to have a "different context" than what people have been led to believe, with the comment claimed to have not being directed at Janette.
A source has claimed the comment was actually being directed at EastEnders ' Jamie Borthwick, to whom Wynne can be heard saying: "Old spitroast boy".
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Wynne's team have had the clip analysed by a cyber forensics team which has identified a word nobody had previously noticed; they believe it changes everything.
"In it, he can be heard saying 'old spitroast boy' to Jamie Borthwick. It may seem like semantics, but the 'old' and the 'boy' proves he was addressing Jamie and NOT making a crude sexual remark about Janette, as originally thought."
They elaborated that this is supposedly a reference to Jamie's party trick of putting his legs behind his head, akin to a spit roast chicken.
In a statement at the time, Evans said: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.”
Janette Manrara has reportedly been in contact with Wynne, reassuring him that she was not troubled by the incident.
The GoCompare ad icon recently committed to challenging his removal from Strictly. He declared "truth wins" in one of few statements made since his departure from the tour.
He is said to be planning legal action seeking "recompense" for the significant impact the scandal has had on his career.
The BBC is slated to make a call on Wynne's future later on this month
