Brittany Cartwright addressed calling out her estranged husband Jax Taylor’s “fake” claim about seeking professional help for his anger issues in The Valley season 1 finale. She also slammed his “gaslighting,” and claimed she hasn’t been sick since January – around the time she left him.
Throughout the season, Jax continually suggested that Brittany had a drinking problem, pointing to the fact that she often got sick. But Brittany claimed to have issues with her stomach – which is affected by even small amounts of alcohol – and Jax knew this.
Last month, Brittany filed for divorce, and a reconciliation seems unlikely.
On her “When Reality Hits” podcast, Brittany addressed the shocking scene when she called out Jax for allegedly lying about his intentions to get professional help before filming the finale.
“That was an intense scene for me because whenever we picked it back up I was just so angry, and I still am so angry about a lot of things,” said Brittany, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “It’s gonna take me a long time to get over.”
“But the gaslighting and all that stuff that he was trying to do to me … it just wasn’t okay,” she went on. “The fact that I had been asking him to get help for a very long time and work on things and try to get things better for a very long time – it just really upset me that I had been trying and trying and trying, and then he calls the day before he knew the cameras were gonna get picked back up, to say that he has an appointment with a doctor the following day.”
Brittany said this “upset” her because she had been asking him to do this “for so long.”
“It seemed to me that he only did it because the cameras were there,” she said. “And I was not gonna stand for that, and I was gonna call it out because that’s being fake. And that’s what I really felt and I’m glad that I did that because there was a lot of things that I feel like I got portrayed as last year, like whenever he was saying I was drinking in times whenever I wasn’t.”
Regarding her sickness, Brittany shared that she hasn’t “been sick at all” since January (around the time they split).
