Davante Adams is currently with the New York Jets, but that's a marriage that doesn't seem like it's going to last much longer.
Adams has two years at $35 million each left on his current contract, but the Jets are basically heading into a rebuild with a new general manager, a new coach and likely a new quarterback not named Aaron Rodgers.
Considering that Rodgers is the only reason Adams went to the Jets and there's also a potential out in his contract this offseason for New York, it's starting to look like Adams will be cut once all things are said and done.
Ultimately, that means he may be looking for a new football home in 2025, and with the Green Bay Packers desperately needing help at wideout this offseason, coming back home to where it all started could be an option for him.
In fact, it sure sounds like he'd like to be a Packer again. Adams had this to say when discussing Green Bay's offseason needs with Kay Adams on Tuesday.
"It's looking right now like they might need some receiver help in one way or the other based on what they have available. Maybe a veteran or something, we'll see," he said.
Adams, at 32 years old, certainly qualifies as a veteran, but he's still one of the most talented wideouts in the league at his age, and he's one of the best at getting separation and making tough catches look easy.
That's exactly what the Packers need with Jordan Love having regressed a bit in 2024, so it will be interesting to see if the Packers make a run at him if and when New York cuts him.
