This Flyers forward stood up for defenseman Travis Sanheim.
Joel Farabee & Travis Sanheim
On Wednesday (Dec. 4), Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim was named to Team Canada's roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off. He will represent Canada with fellow Flyers star Travis Konency.
Sanheim undoubtedly earned this opportunity, as he has had an excellent season with the Flyers. In 25 games, the 6-foot-4 defender has five goals, 15 points, and a plus-2 rating.
However, with so many excellent Canadian players, there has naturally been some debate about their selections. Sanheim is one player creating debate, as he received criticism from JFresh, a very popular hockey analytics account with 122.7K followers on X.
JFresh argued that while Sanheim has had a good year, he is not "an amazing defender" and isn't very physical.
Shortly after the post, Flyers forward Joel Farabee stood up for Sanheim and told JFresh to simply "watch a game."
Clearly, Farabee disagreed strongly with JFresh's opinion on Sanheim, and he made sure to stand up for his teammate because of it. That should earn him more respect in the room.
