Britain’s Got Talent viewers are set to see a huge format change to the live semi-finals which are set to air at the end of the month.

On Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, entertainment reporter Richard Arnold made a huge announcement regarding Britain's Got Talent.
Speaking to hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins, the ITV star revealed the talent show is facing a major format change for the semi-finals.
He said: "I can exclusively reveal another change to this year's format, introducing the brand new live semi-final golden buzzer! For the first time in BGT history, the buzzer will now appear during the live rounds. It has already been pressed eight times this series."
When the buzzer was introduced back in 2014, each judge and presenter, Ant and Dec, was allowed to press it once to send an auditioning act straight through to the semi-finals.

However, the judges have disregarded the rule over the years and pressed it multiple times during the audition process.
In this series, the golden buzzer has been pressed for the likes of Vinnie McKee, Will Burns, Stacey Leadbetter, Olly Pearson, The Blackouts, and Linda Mudzenda.
Detailing more about the change, Richard added: “This year, one judge or Ant and Dec will be allowed to use the golden buzzer in the semi-finals as well.

“It’ll give their chosen act a spot in the grand finale in May. The other acts will then face the public vote as usual.”
Charlotte Hawkins replied: “They (the judges) are going to be fighting over that, aren’t they?!”
This isn’t the only change the long-running talent show has had this year either, as viewers will also see how the semi-finals will be aired on TV.

Usually, the semi-finals are on each night for one week before the live final. However, this year, they will run over five weeks and kick off on April 26.
This year, BGT viewers saw KSI step in as a guest judge for the show. Before his appearance, he said, "I’m so excited to be a guest judge for Britain’s Got Talent. When I got the call-up, I couldn’t believe it.
"I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my arse off. I’m buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I’ll be sure to leave a mark!”
Britain's Got Talent continues Saturday on ITV from 7pm. Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX
