Lindsay Arnold is just like Us when it comes to wanting to know any Dancing With the Stars spoilers.
“I want to know everything. It’s very much my personality,” Arnold, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her Mother’s Day partnership with Hallmark. “I don’t really love to be surprised. I like to know things.”
After 10 seasons as a pro, Arnold stepped back from the show and has started her own fitness platform, The Movement Club. But just because Lindsay is no longer competing for the mirrorball trophy doesn’t mean she isn’t curious about possible contestants — especially with her sister Rylee Arnold working as a pro on DWTS.
“I knew [Robert Irwin] was being announced yesterday and I was so excited when Rylee told me. It was a group FaceTime and we were all freaking out,” Lindsay recalled. “It was so cool that Rylee was able to be there and host that event. She was so excited about that. But I like to know everything. I’m the sister that’s calling Rylee going, ‘So how did it go today? What happened? Tell me everything.'”
Lindsay has seen the online chatter about Rylee, 19, potentially being paired up with Irwin for season 34, telling Us, “That would be such an amazing pairing. It’s kind of funny because Rylee was putting that out there. She was like, ‘I would love to be partnered with Robert Irwin.’ So it’s so cool that he’s going to be on the show.”
Lindsay continued: “Whoever gets him is in for a treat. I’ve met him and he’s so kind. His sister, Bindi [Irwin], is incredible. So whoever gets him would be amazing. Of course I’m rooting for my sister though because I think that would be so cool.”
Ahead of season 34, Lindsay has several celebrities on her wishlist. She specifically brought up Taylor and Tay Lautner, saying, “They’re the cutest couple ever. We’ve had two sets of a married couple that both perform and both compete so the dynamic is so much fun.”
There’s also many viewers hoping Lindsay will make her DWTS return. While Lindsay has stepped back from the ABC competition show, she was thrilled to get on stage briefly during a DWTS Tour date in Utah last month.
“I was watching and I’m like, ‘Oh, I want to go do this right now. I want to go dance this right now.’ I’m a dancer at heart forever. That will never change,” she shared. “So watching my friends be so passionate on the stage, it does take me back. I love it. I will always love it. I was like, ‘Oh, I want to get up there.’ But then I got to get up there and do the little hoedown so that was good for me.”
As Lindsay joins Us in waiting for more DWTS updates, the professional dancer is excited for other upcoming milestones, including getting to celebrate Mother’s Day with her and husband Sam Cusick‘s daughters, Sage, 4, and June, 23 months. Lindsay partnered with Hallmark to honor the special moms in her life with unique themed cards and gifts.
“Since becoming a mom, Mother’s Day has quickly become my absolute favorite holiday. One because it’s nice to have a day to celebrate this beautiful phase of life. The best thing that’s ever happened to me is becoming a mom. So I love that I get to celebrate me being a mom. But even more importantly, since becoming a mom, I have so much more respect for my own mother and for my sisters who have children,” she told Us. “Just being able to celebrate and really just give credit to all the beautiful mothers in my life is why it’s my favorite. I love so much that I’m able to partner with Hallmark because they are truly the one-stop shop for all things that you want to give to somebody to help them feel special and to give them something that’s meaningful.”
Lindsay admitted she loves nothing more than showering her loved ones with gifts, which is where Hallmark comes in.
“I’m the kind of person that I would rather receive a meaningful and thoughtful gift than just something. So I love that Hallmark is perfect for that with their different greeting cards and gift cards with their gifts. I already shopped for my sisters and my mom and got so many amazing Hallmark gifts,” she noted. “It was so fun to really pick out personalized gift cards for each mom in my life and something that I knew would be meaningful to them. I’m so excited for Mother’s Day and I just love that I can celebrate the mothers in my life.”
She continued: “[When it comes to Sage and June], my husband will help them write out a little card. I always loved Mother’s Day but I don’t think I really recognized how special and important it is that we recognize even just the mother figures in our life. Because being a mom is — in my opinion — one of the most important roles that we can play. So I love it. I’m so excited for this Mother’s Day and see what my girls come up with.”
