New Bruins Forward Has 'Dream Come True' Joining Team

This new Bruins forward is ecstatic to join the Original Six club.

Over the weekend, the Boston Bruins claimed forward Oliver Wahlstrom off waivers from the New York Islanders.

Wahlstrom participated in his first practice with the team on Monday (Dec. 16) in Calgary. During it, he took reps on the third line with Trent Frederic and Charlie Coyle.

Following practice, Wahlstrom made it abundantly clear that he is ecstatic that he is now a Bruin, as he grew up a fan while living in Maine.

"Yeah, I was a pretty big (Bruins fan growing up). (Marchand) called me the other day, and that was pretty cool. Obviously, I grew up watching him play and the 2011 Stanley Cup and I know Pasta, too. I really don't know if it's sunk in yet. It's a dream come true to be back home where my family and friends live."

Wahlstrom will now look to make an impact after getting this amazing opportunity to play for his favorite childhood team. With the Bruins needing more offense, they will be hoping that the former top prospect can give them more depth production.

Wahlstrom has two goals and four points in 27 games this season.
