Most Real Housewives of Atlanta fans were shocked when Kandi Burruss decided to exit the series. She was a mainstay on RHOA for 14 seasons before moving on. And she has continued to be incredibly successful in her professional life. Still, fans are wondering what Kandi’s thoughts are about Season 16 of RHOA. The show’s vibe has definitely changed.
Kandi Burruss is enjoying huge success away from RHOA
Kandi has been living her dream, acting as a producer for Othello on Broadway. The play, which stars none other than Denzel Washington, was snubbed when the 2025 Tony Awards nominees were announced. “Well y’all … Othello didn’t get the Tony nomination. Of course, I’m disappointed, but I’m still beyond proud to be part of this phenomenal production,” Kandi wrote via Instagram. Plus, she let it be known that she isn’t giving up on her dream to win a Tony.
Recently, Kandi shared her thoughts about Season 16 of RHOA. “It’s different. You know, obviously, it’s different,” Kandi told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, a lot of times, people get used to the people that they love, you know? But in order for a show to continue to go on and on and on, you got to get new faces and new personalities.” Then Kandi gave a shout-out to the queen bee of Season 16. “And I’ve said, my girl Shamea [Morton], she is bringing it,” the singer added.
When asked if Kandi would consider returning to RHOA, her answer wasn’t surprising. “I’m just not there at this moment in my life. I’m doing what I really love,” Kandi stated. “But I’m supporting from afar.” Since Kandi’s nemesis, Phaedra Parks, returned this season, there was no way that Kandi would grab a peach if Phaedra were part of the show. Kandi made it clear for years that she would never share the screen again with her former co-star.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is airing on Bravo every Sunday at 8/7c and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
