He's not upset that his wife left RHOBH!
Lisa Rinna's husband, Harry Hamlin, is relieved that she left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills following her 8th year on the show.
During a May 7 interview with Us Weekly, Hamlin said Rinna had a lightness to her following her 2023 Bravo exit.
"Best decision we ever made was for her to bow out after eight seasons, and she made that decision. But it’s a breath of fresh air at this moment,” said Hamlin to the publication.
Hamlin then suggested he had mixed feelings about his wife's time on the show.
"We were always a little circumspect about her doing it in the beginning. I was, for sure. But as a branding opportunity, it turned out to be great for her. I think it thickened her skin a lot too, so it’s a very difficult show to get through emotionally. But she did it and we’re still standing," said Hamlin while speaking to Us Weekly.
Rinna and Hamlin opened up about her joining RHOBH during its 5th season in a joint February 2025 interview on the Skinny Confidential podcast. Rinna said she was interested in starring in RHOBH because she believed it would be a good branding opportunity. However, her husband, whom she wed in 1997, did not want her to join the series because he believed it would negatively affect their marriage. However, Hamlin changed his mind after he realized former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel launched a successful business, Skinny Girl!, partly because of her presence on Bravo.
Us Weekly reported that Rinna said she might appear on future seasons of RHOBH if the offer was high enough.
“I mean, if a billionaire sugar daddy came along and said, ‘You have to do Housewives and I will pay you $25 million,’ I would say, ‘OK, fine, sure,’” quipped Rinna on the May 2 episode of her and Hamlin's podcast, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband.
This is not the first time that Rinna has spoken about whether she would come back to RHOBH. For instance, during a March 2024 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she said she was not interested in filming RHOBH again. She clarified that she was "grateful for the experience," as "it made [her] a better actor." According to Rinna, she was able to study her RHOBH co-stars to create characters for different shows she has appeared on since her Bravo departure.
