This narrative arose in Season 10 of Real Housewives of Orange County, once Brooks Ayers, Vicki’s then-love tank filler, revealed his supposed cancer diagnosis. While Brooks has always maintained his innocence, stating that his diagnosis was legit, he produced fake documents on air, causing the cast to question the validity of his illness. Throughout her co-stars’ rumblings, Vicki remained loyal to her man, defending his diagnosis left and right. Her insistence ended up biting her in her casserole-loving backside, as it earned her the label of cancer scammer. But is that accurate?
Vicki Gunvalson is innocent, she claims, as Brooks Ayers “scammed” her
While sitting down With Christian Gray Snow of the My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast series, Vicki recalled her “soulmate.” She loved Brooks. He was her “knight in shining armor.” But then, his armor formed a clink, as Vicki realized not everyone on her cast liked her new beau.
When he told her he had cancer, she was already “madly in love with him.” So naturally, she had no reason to question his claims. However, Vicki is currently being annihilated by the fans, as several do not wish to see someone who might have faked such a tragic claim back on their screens ever again. To her haters, Vicki would now like a word.
“First of all, I never had cancer, so how can I fake it? Number two, if somebody faked it that I was with, [then] blame them. I didn’t know one way or the other, so all of you, stop it,” Vicki scolded. She finds every pointing finger “ridiculous” and even “disrespectful” to her “as a woman.”
Vicki is also a financial advisor. Therefore, aiding in a false, cancer-laden storyline would destroy her reputation, so in her mind, clearly she is innocent. “I never scammed anybody,” she stressed, adding, “I was scammed.” And if anyone wants to fight Victoria on this, tread lightly, as she “wants to rip” the “eyeballs off” of anyone who claims otherwise.
Cancer sucks. I’ve lost far too many people to this vile disease. I have even had a few brushes with this loser mutation of genes myself. For Vicki’s sake, I hope she is telling the truth.
But also, f*ck cancer.
Real Housewives of Orange County airs every Thursday at 9/8c on Bravo.
