Vanderpump Rules fans had questions about Lala Kent‘s surprising announcement about parting ways with her assistant Jessica Walter — and luckily Scheana Shay seems to have all the answers.
Kent, 34, and Walter have both remained tight lipped about them no longer working together. Shay, 39, however, hinted at the reason during the Friday, November 22, episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast.
“That is not my story to tell. But I will say this, Lala is a boss bitch and anyone would be lucky to work for her,” Shay shared. “Also, this is why I work with my family because when you keep it in the family, you don’t have to worry about them leaving you. So there’s that.”
Shay’s insight comes weeks after Kent confirmed on her “Give Them Lala” podcast about Walter’s unexpected departure.
"My ache is that my ride or die, Jessica, is no longer going to be working for me, and she is no longer going to be on the podcast,” Kent revealed earlier this month. “My relief is that she’s going to spread her wings.”
Kent wished Walter luck with her upcoming endeavors, adding, “I love her more than anything, and I’m so excited to see what she’s going to do in her future.”
During that podcast episode, Kent’s brother and frequent cohost Easton Burningham also wished Walter well. “She was family, but I want her to go and be successful in all the things she’s wanting in life,” he noted. “And I’m excited to see her shine and do all the things she’s wanting to do.”
Walter hasn’t spoken out too much about the surprising professional change. She did spark speculation of a feud when she “liked” a fan comment on Instagram that read, “This was handled so poorly. Not your fault but we listen to a pod with the three of you on the reg and have no answers. No send off or anything.”
Walter elaborated in an Instagram video later that month.
“Of course, I would have said goodbye to you guys if I were given the opportunity. Of course,” she said. “I would want to say how much I love and appreciate just connecting with all of you. So, I’ll say that now. Right now, on behalf of my position on the ‘Give Them Lala’ podcast, goodbye. And I love every single one of you. I hope we stay connected. That is all I will say for now.”
While Kent and Walter might never share the full story, the reality star has candidly discussed her other recent falling outs. Kent recently found herself at odds with several of her costars, including Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute. She also briefly had issues with Brittany Cartwright but they were able to work it out.
“I burned a lot of bridges,” Kent joked on the Tuesday, November 19, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen after confirming she wasn’t in touch with most of her Vanderpump Rules costars amid the hiatus.
