On June 17, Norman Reedus joined fellow cast members Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and others for the red carpet event of the Los Angeles premiere of the Focus Feature film The Bikeriders. Reedus, known for his role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead universe, now takes on a different role with a dramatic change in his appearance.
The film hits theaters on Friday, June 21, and is directed by Jeff Nichols, known for Take Shelter (2011) and Mud (2012). Nichols had the idea for a biker film for years before actually beginning the project in 2022. Titled after Danny Lyons' photography book, the story is set in the 1960s during a rebellious time in America and follows a midwestern biker club.
The Midwest bike club, The Vandals, is led by Johnny (Tom Hardy) and was established as a gathering place for the local outcasts. The newest member, Benny (Austin Butler), meets strong-willed Kathy (Jodie Comer), and they hit it off. Over a decade, the club evolves into something violent and criminal, this will require Benny to make some tough life decisons.
Hardy, Butler, and Comer are joined by an all-star lineup that includes Reedus, Michael Shannon, who has starred in every feature by director Nicholes, Mike Faist, Boyd Holdbrook, Damon Harriman, Beau Knapp, Emory Cohen, Karl Glusman, Toby Wallace, and Happy Anderson.
The Bikeriders' Los Angeles premiere
Held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in L.A., The Bikeriders' premiere was a star-studded occasion. Many familar faces were in attendance.
Reedus arrived in style, flashing a peach sign and a smile.
He lost his cool when his long-time crush, Academy-Award-winning Cher, arrived on the red carpet. Reedus shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he had his arms around Butler and Comer when he noticed Cher exclaiming, "Oh my God, That's Cher!" She is also who Reedus describes as his dream guest on his motorcycle travel show Ride with Norman Reedus.
Reedus' friend and Ride guest and Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day co-star Clifton Collins Jr. also attended the event.
Fellow Walking Dead actor Tom Payne and his wife Jennifer Åkerman, who recently became parents of twins, took a night away from parenting their three children to attend the premiere. Check out the outstanding image of the happy couple.
Jason Momoa and his daughter Lola Iolani Momoa arrived, ever so coolly on his motorcylce.
Another Walking Dead cast member, Cassady McClincy, who looked stunning in red, attended the premiere and shared some fun images on social media with the caption. "WILD RIDE! Brilliant, beautiful performances all around! Will be watching@bikeridersfilm again out on Friday!" Reedus commented on her post, "Was so great seeing u there ❤️"
