Podcaster Haliey Welch — aka "Hawk Tuah Girl" — went on a date of sorts with West Wilson.
There are often interesting guests on Summer House (Tom Schwartz is a frequent visitor, for example, and who could forget Balloon Guy Joe), but one particularly notable name made an appearance on Summer House Season 9, Episode 5: "Hawk Tuah Girl." Sort of, anyway.
On the latest episode of Summer House, Amanda Batula, Carl Radke, Paige DeSorbo, Jesse Solomon, and West Wilson went out for a small group dinner. It didn't take long before conversation turned to dating.
Since Amanda (married to Kyle Cooke), Paige (then dating Southern Charm cast member Craig Conover), and Jesse (recently seeing new housemate Lexi Wood) were all spoken for, the group turned up the heat on single men Carl and West.
Turns out they've both been up to some surprising activities. So, here's how Haliey Welch, also known as "Hawk Tuah Girl," ended up with a Summer House cameo.
Why was Hawk Tuah Girl on Summer House?
After Carl's revelation that he hadn't slept with anyone since his breakup from Lindsay Hubbard at the end of the previous summer, it was time for the spotlight to turn to West, a digital journalist.
"Technically speaking," began West, "I don't think I've been on a date in a f-----g minute."
But...
"We're like, piloting a show at Complex, which I'm hosting," West explained to the group. "So it's basically an interview, but it's through the course of, like, a date."
He continued, "So, it's like kind of gimmicky, but I'm interviewing women."
Per West, the lineup includes "B, C, a little D-list celebs. I'm interviewing Hawk Tuah!"
Though Haliey didn't appear on Summer House herself, fans got to see clips from her appearance on West Date Ever.
The two went competitive fishing, with Haliey joking that "this'll be the last date we go on!" after West reeled one in first.
"What are you gonna name it?" the podcaster asked West, who was holding up his catch.
"What do you think we should name it?" he responded.
She didn't hesitate. "Fifi!"
Still holding up the enormous fish, West said, "Go on, give him a kiss."
Haliey went for a quick air kiss, but nothing more than that occurred between the two. So no, it doesn't look like she'll be making a surprise appearance at Summer House in person.
