Will Billy ever learn?
Well, this could be the twistiest twist that ever twisted!
On the July 9 episode of The Young and the Restless, Jack was furious to find out that Billy was planning to step away from Abbott Communications and hand it over to Sally to run. Jack reminded that he’d invested in his brother. Billy reminded that he was a selfish brat who doesn’t care about other people. Everything was unfolding as usual. But what if Jack is ready to go rogue?
No More Mr. Nice Guy
Jack (Peter Bergman) feels responsible for his painfully self-destructive brother. To keep Billy (Jason Thompson) from throwing yet another tantrum and doing something predictably stupid, Jack keeps shoveling money at the problem, which usually takes the form of giving Billy whatever he wants at the moment to make him calm down. But is Billy grateful? Billy is not.
Billy goes chasing after the next shiny object, ignoring what everyone else has done for him. Sally (Courtney Hope) understood this tendency of his enough to demand a guarantee that she will take over Abbott Communication once Billy abandons it. That was enough to make her happy. But it made Jack furious.
Take Over
The logical thing for Jack to do would be to take Abbott Communications away from Billy in order to teach him a lesson. (Or simply to keep from throwing good money after bad.) And in order to do that, he’d need Sally’s cooperation. Do you remember when Sally first came to Genoa City? Do you remember with whom she had a connection? That’s right, it was Jack. The two really sparked. But then everyone told Jack what a terrible, horrible woman Sally was, and he pulled away. But how hard would it be to respark that?
The Other Woman
Diane (Susan Walters) might even be on board. She is determined to prove to Jack that she is his ride or die. She might even go along with his plans. Until the pretend feelings turned into real ones. And now we’ve got a story!
