The Chicago Blackhawks didn't have a great season, but as the playoffs are underway, it is a good time to look at how the team fared against all 16 playoff teams.

I've broken up their record in a number of different ways so that you get an in depth look at the different groupings. The Blackhawks had a record of 24-46-11 this season (61 points), but went 14-21-8 against playoff teams. This is pretty expected.
Against the West where the Blackhawks play, the team had a record of 8-14-5 against the eight playoff teams. In the East, playing fewer games, Chicago had a record of 6-7-3 against those eight playoff teams. In terms of the playoffs teams in the West vs the East, the Western Conference had better teams this season.
The Blackhawks went 2-6-2 against the four division winners: Winnipeg Jets, Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Washington Capitals. As the second worst team in the league against four dominant teams this season, that was also expected.
Against the four wildcard teams, the Blackhawks went 4-5-2, which isn't horrible for the record Chicago finished with. The wildcard teams are the St. Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens.
Of the 16 playoff teams, the Blackhawks won more games than they lost in the season series with only two teams: Los Angeles Kings and Canadiens.
Chicago did pretty well in the number of playoff teams that they got a points percentage of at least .500 against. This group includes the Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, Kings, Florida Panthers, Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, Senators, and Canadiens.
But the Blackhawks went winless this season against five playoff teams: Jets, Blues, Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, and Carolina Hurricanes.
The Blackhawks' record against all 16 playoff teams this season are as follows:
- Jets 0-1-2
- Stars 1-3-0
- Avalanche 2-1-1
- Golden Knights 1-2-0
- Kings 2-1-0
- Oilers 1-1-1
- Wild 1-3-0
- Blues 0-2-1
- Maple Leafs 0-2-0
- Lightning 1-0-1
- Panthers 1-1-0
- Capitals 1-1-0
- Hurricanes 0-1-1
- Devils 0-2-0
- Senators 1-0-1
- Canadiens 2-0-0
