The announcement was made by executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman, who shared: "From the very beginning, Strange New Worlds set out to honor what Star Trek has always stood for - boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible."We're deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. When is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 out?
The third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will premiere with a double episode on Thursday, July 17 on Paramount+ in the US, Canada, and the UK, reports the Irish Star.
New episodes will be released every Thursday, culminating in the season finale on Thursday, September 11.
It's been almost two years since the season two finale, and executive producer Akiva Goldsman addressed the extended hiatus during the Tribeca Film Festival. He remarked: "We had a writers' strike. We didn't anticipate that it was going to be quite as long. But we have faith in our audience. Thank you for waiting and thank you for liking."

Who is in the cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3?
The cast line-up for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 features returning fan favourites alongside fresh faces.
Audiences can expect to see stalwarts such as Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike), Ethan Peck (Spock), Celia Rose Gooding (Nyota Uhura), and Rebecca Romijn (Number One) reprising their roles, along with Jess Bush (Nurse Christine Chapel), Christina Chong (La'An Noonien-Singh), Melissa Navia (Erica Ortegas), and Babs Olusanmokun (Dr. M'Benga).
Adding to the excitement, Rhys Darby joins the ensemble in a mystery part suspected to be a legacy character.
The 51 year old actor from New Zealand, famous for his comedic roles in Flight of the Conchords and What We Do in the Shadows, is set to bring his unique flair to the series.
Patton Oswalt, the 56 year old stand-up comedian famed for his roles in The King of Queens and as the narrator of The Goldbergs, will be taking on the role of a Vulcan Security Officer.
Cillian O'Sullivan, an American-born Irish actor known for his performances in Vikings and Then You Run, will star as Dr. Roger Korby.
Mynor Luken, recognised for his work in Chicago Med, will portray Beto Ortegas.
